Το “London Calling” των Clash, κοπής 1979. Άλλο ένα χαρακτηριστικό δείγμα διά το πόσο μπερδεμένη ήτο η δεκαετία εις την οποία αναφερόμαστε. Τυπικά το “Rolling Stone” και βάσει ότι αυτός ο δίσκος κυκλοφόρησε στις αρχές του 1980 στις ΗΠΑ, έχει μιά βάση. Αλλά το συγκεκριμμένο άλμπουμ αποτελεί το κλασσικό αποχαιρετηστήριο αντίο της δεκαετίας του 1970, ως ύφος και μουσικό είδος (punk) κι ως τέτοιο πρέπει ν’ αντιμετωπίζεται, λαμβάνοντας πάντα υπ’όψιν την χρονολογία της ΠΡΩΤΗΣ κυκλοφορίας εις την χώρα παραγωγής του.

(Προσέξετε την εισαγωγή του τραγουδιού, πάνω στην οποία “πάτησαν” (sic) οι Αμερικάνοι Nirvana κι έφτιαξαν τον μύθο τους με το grunge. Μόνο που στην τέχνη ΔΕΝ υπάρχει παρθενογέννηση και τα πάντα σχεδόν έχουν ήδη λεχθεί/ ειπωθεί…)

H Δεκαετία του Ογδόντα ήταν μιά δεκετία που κυριάρχησε ο ήχος του μπάσσου. Θυμίζω την εντύπωση που προξένησε στο αμάθητο (τότες) ελληνικό κοινό τo πρωτεοεμφανιζόμενο “άταστο” μπάσο των Police και που “κούφανε” κόσμο και κοσμάκη στην πρώτη και ιστορική συναυλία τους στο Sporting.
